Portfolio

Recent work, shown rather than described.

Two builds from S3: a client website that is live today, and S3’s own operational telemetry platform, in development. Real screenshots, the stack behind each, and why it matters for government work.

Case Studies

Two builds, end to end.

What the problem was, what S3 built, and where it stands, with the screenshots to check it against.

Client Website

Cole Land Services

Land surveying · Kentucky and West Virginia

  • Astro
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Netlify
  • Netlify Forms
  • JSON-LD

Challenge

Cole Land Services provides boundary, topographic and construction surveying across Kentucky and West Virginia, performed under Tug Valley Land Surveying. It needed a web presence that carried its established print brand, explained its services and process plainly, and let prospective clients request a quote online.

Solution

  • A one-page Astro and Tailwind CSS 4 site on Netlify: services, a four-step process, about and FAQ.
  • A Netlify Forms quote form with a honeypot and reCAPTCHA, accessible validation and AJAX submission.
  • ProfessionalService JSON-LD, a sitemap, OpenGraph and Twitter metadata, security headers and immutable asset caching.
  • Performance work: preloaded fonts, inlined CSS, responsive WebP images, a high-priority hero image and a lazily loaded reCAPTCHA.
  • Accessibility throughout: a skip link, reduced-motion support, 44px touch targets and ARIA-linked form errors.
  • The client’s print-banner wordmark, rebuilt in CSS as live, searchable text.

Outcome

Launched a fast, accessible, search-ready web presence that takes quote requests online and carries the client’s own brand.

Government relevance

The baseline a public-facing government site is held to, delivered for a small business: accessibility treated as a requirement, structured data, security headers and a spam-hardened public intake form, on a static footprint that is cheap to host and simple to maintain.

The Cole Land Services homepage on desktop: the pirate-surveyor mascot illustration beside a large "Cole Land Services" wordmark, the tagline "Accurate Measurements. Solid Results.", and Request a Quote and Call buttons.
The same Cole Land Services homepage on a phone: the mascot illustration stacked above the wordmark, tagline and full-width Request a Quote and Call buttons.

S3 Product · In Development

TeleMatiQ

Operational telemetry platform

  • React
  • TypeScript
  • PWA
  • MapLibre GL
  • Node.js
  • Express
  • PostgreSQL
  • Prisma

Challenge

Vehicle telematics, tank monitoring and weather data arrive from separate vendor systems, each with its own data model. TeleMatiQ is S3’s product for turning those disconnected operational systems into one intelligent operational platform.

Solution

  • An installable, offline-capable progressive web app in React 18 and TypeScript, built with Vite, Tailwind CSS 4, Zustand, MapLibre GL and Recharts.
  • Seven views: Overview, Vehicles, Live Map, Alerts, Analytics, Team & Access and Integrations.
  • A vendor-agnostic provider adapter layer that normalizes every source into one telemetry model: Samsara and NOAA adapters implemented, Otodata scaffolded.
  • A Node.js, Express and TypeScript API with Zod validation on Prisma and PostgreSQL: about 30 REST endpoints across data collection, time-series, rules and reporting engines.
  • A built-in simulator that feeds the whole platform telemetry for development and demonstration.

Outcome

In active development. The web app, API and simulator run end to end; the screenshots show simulated data, not a customer deployment.

Government relevance

Agencies face the same problem at larger scale: disconnected systems that need to become one operational picture. TeleMatiQ works that pattern through a vendor-agnostic integration layer, with Admin, Operator and Viewer roles designed into the interface.

The TeleMatiQ Overview dashboard with simulated data: vehicle status counts, a live map of assets in Texas, an alert for a low tank level, and an activity feed of telemetry updates.
The TeleMatiQ Live Map view: simulated vehicles and tanks plotted across Texas, with warning and nominal status filters.
